My boyfriend and his family came up to my new mountain home this past weekend and we had a blast. The leaves were unfortunately way past their peak but there is something beautiful that happens to the mountains when they are bare of leaves: they take on a purple color. The fall sunsets are pink, and there is nothing as pretty as pink against purple. I had my parents over for dinner(their farm is only a few miles away) and we all enjoyed a big pot of grass-fed beef stew with mashed potatoes and curried brussel sprouts. The dinner was easy on me, so it was prefect. We also went hiking: Dairy farms dot the landscape!
Another view, the meadows are still green but they are fading.
Another mountain top meadow in the background. We had apples and chocolate at the top of the mountain thanks to a forgotten apple tree!
