Icelandic Food

December 5, 2007

Esja1 Icelandic Food I just stumbled upon a great blog which is devoted to traditional Icelandic food. It is called Icelandic cooking, recipes and food culture.

It is really marvelous, and offers a genuine introduction to Icelandic cuisine. If you happen to go to Reykjavik, many of the restaurants will serve Icelandic ingredients done in a variety of ways but rarely do you get a chance to taste “home style cooking”. Icelandic fish is unrivaled in my opinion, and it is delicious when done in a bistro style manner but this is not how average Icelanders eat it. In fact, they usually bread and fry their haddock or poach it and serve it with potatoes. This blog is worth a look if you are an Icelandophile, or and Icelandic American it is a great resource!
